Health Equity
A larger burden of cardiovascular disease and unmet need exists in specific populations. Addressing this unmet need is an important outcome for many of our projects. For example, about a third of Australians live in rural and remote communities where disparities in clinical outcomes are unacceptably large. Technologies that allow for remote and rural delivery of health solutions may be game changers in improving health services access.
Health Equity Lens
A health equity lens is a key feature of several ASHRA projects, providing solutions for rural and remote communities, culturally and linguistically diverse groups and directly addressing health challenges of Indigenous Australians
Our Health Equity Projects
ASHRA projects are looking at:
The way in which stroke care is delivered in rural and remote communities: Lite CT and Telerobotic Thrombectomy;
Improving cardiovascular screening and risk assessment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples: OSCA and CRISP;
Digital solutions to improve the management of cardiovascular diseases among Culturally and Lingustically Diverse communities: MICArdiac and Participate.
